First minute and a half is just too awkward but everything after is really great

I actually quite liked this one. There were a lot of good entries and it's difficult to come across something so full of life on this site, something so passionately made without falling into the trap of "eh, it's nostalgia so they'll like it anyway" laziness. I would've given it 5 stars, but I had to dock just a few because I don't really like how you guys all huddle up on single bad reviews from literal nobodies. Very insecure.

Favorite entries were Salad Fingers by Mikel, WGJ4K by Claykid and Zone-Tan by Gabo.

[Evangelion Collab]

Newgrounds Evangelion is actually a pretty funny collab idea. There are a few entertaining things you could make with it: Staggernite's entry about Tankmen defeating Angels feels like a proper celebration of Newgrounds with an Evangelion theme and a lot of these people have pretty cute interpretations of the designs like Magibauble's absolutely hilarious cartoon showing Shinji as a dorky pizza boy. I can only say this about a few entries, though, because this collab seems to seldom grow past the typical flaws with Newgrounds collabs. The inside jokes here are reminiscent of how forced and lazy they were in the FF7 collab, as is some of the actual production.

I'm very impressed by some of these animators making solemn attempts at animating, or even just drawing, the EVA. KGBlagden has a particularly gorgeous one that tickles that little mecha otaku inside me. This sort of detailed mech art is always incredibly impressive to me, especially when coming from a platform (or from animators) I don't expect to make it look this good. Things like that make the collab a little more timeless and memorable... unlike Wanda's NFT monkey jokes. I'm sure you see my issue with the collab by now: the reliance on memes, inside jokes and dated humor rather than just making collab entries that stand on their own as funny parodies of Evangelion. That being said, I love the presentation in the bumps and transitions and can definitely feel a stylish passion behind some, if not most of these entries. There's not terribly much to complain about, but it's still very underwhelming.

[Dogs Without Peace]

New direction is impressive and on the right path. I really like the backgrounds and atmosphere, but this cartoon is still just as boring in script as the last few.

[Dogs Without Babies]

I really like the posing and these designs are still very versatile but this isn’t good improv. It’s barely improv at all because it doesn’t build and doesn’t bounce: there’s no explanation of where “the baby” even came from (which could’ve led to more actual jokes) and it ends up being two guys repeating the same phrase and laughing in a Discord call that happens to be coated with easy but charming visuals.

If you’re going to do improv, I suggest actually building upon the premise “Mike and Spusky lose a baby.” Some more locations would be nice, too; Home Movies for instance really benefits from having a lot of locations, all set in one comfy town, full of props and weirdos to make jokes about or to add to the subject/point of the episode. This is just incredibly uninspired.

Solid feedback. While I did go for humor in mellow "empty" conversation, the different settings and interactions in between is something I'll definitely put mind to on any further episodes after the rest of the finished ones are released, IF I do more, that is. Thank you!

[Coke y Olivia Make A Sacrifice]

Easily your best cartoon yet, despite the obviously rushed segments. There are oddly composed shots (like the one of banana Olivia and Coke where it zooms in on nothing, cutting off the figures of interest) but it generally has a much thicker and more impressive atmosphere than any of your previous works.

The ambience is great, from the subtle music to the realistic but fitting sound effects. I love the colors that compliment the still shots and brief and swinging animations all the same. You really outdid yourself with this one, and I can feel an unparalleled and irreplaceable identity behind this cartoon.

[Eddsworld - Beaster Bunny]

really knocked it out of the park with this one

OVERALL: shallow
Well this was shallow. i wish you guys would go the way of the buffalo and let eddsworld end or just follow in toms footsteps because at least he actually wanted to progress the series instead of sticking to the past and treating edds art like a formula that now has to be followed and mimicked. this new "saga" of eddsworld is so unbelievably self-obsessed and focused on "this is the REAL eddsworld" that it's just intolerable. get your artists/animators to do shorts with their own styles, make original cartoons that aren't downright mocking a dead mans art style, and please fix your horrendous audio design with next to no sound effects.
